Lyd Hosting merges with hosting provider VYKIX

After a year of discussions, Lyd Hosting will merge with VYKIX in 2025.

After lengthy discussions, we are pleased to announce that Lyd Hosting will become ‘VYKIX France’ on 25 May. Like Lyd Hosting, Vykix specialises in hosting game servers.

This hosting provider, very popular with the English-speaking community, has its own infrastructure comprising more than 200 servers worldwide. The machines are assembled in Portugal and deployed in the UK and Germany for Europe.

This choice of having its own infrastructure means it can choose the ideal hardware for hosting DayZ servers. These include processors with high single-core performance, which can be overclocked to boost results.

Major players in the English-speaking community have chosen to trust Vykix to host their servers. This is the case for Rearmed servers and the famous KarmaKrew servers.

A vital merger to take things further

Lyd Hosting was born out of a desire to resurrect a web hosting service I created in 2010 called BikeHosting. It all started after a professional failure at the end of 2021.

I took the time to work on Lyd Hosting throughout 2022 to study the legal status to be adopted, the associated legal obligations, the business model and the financial strategy to be adopted. All this led to the commercial opening of the service on 6 January 2023.

Many changes occurred in my life in March 2025, leading to the signing of a work contract with a well-known company specialising in web hosting in France.

Signing such a contract could have led me to opt for the status quo, to be satisfied with the income generated by Lyd Hosting as a means of supplementing my income.

This merger will mean I'm no longer alone in the boat. Certain tasks can be delegated, allowing me to concentrate on what interests me most. The development of new features, in particular.

What's more, Vykix's experience in server design and deployment will speed things up when the time comes to set up an infrastructure in France.

Answers to your questions

Will we have to spend more money on subscriptions?

On the contrary, the merger will enable you to benefit from a reduction in the cost of your subscriptions towards something that tends to be more affordable. The price of a shared DayZ server at Vykix is 48 euros/month, including VAT.

You will benefit from this pricing once the DayZ servers and spaces have been fully merged. For the moment, we don't have a precise date for this merger. The aim is to achieve it at the beginning of June.

Will the servers change IP address (again)?

First of all, rest assured that the IP addresses of your servers will not change. Last March we made a number of network changes that have enabled Lyd Hosting to be better armed against DDoS attacks.

This change made it possible to switch all the servers on our hosts from ‘DE-01’ to ‘DE-04’ on the Vykix network, which owns the IP addresses used.

The only exception is for the few customers on DE-05, a machine that has not welcomed any new customers for over a month and which is currently running 5 servers. These servers will need a new IP address.
